Bargaining Briefs as of Friday February 3, 2011
The following bargaining briefs are short summaries of ongoing negotiations for MGEU Locals. For some Components/Locals, a recent bargaining publication may have also been sent to members. Visit bargaining publications to view the most recent MGEU bargaining publications.
ANCR: Members ratified first collective agreement on January 11.
Brandon University – Non Academic Staff: Letter to commence bargaining has been sent to the Employer. Proposals for revision will be sent to employer in February.
Canadian Blood Services: Local bargaining proposal meetings were held. Letter to commence bargaining has been sent to the employer.
Career Connections: Letter to commence bargaining has been sent to the Employer. Proposals for revision will be sent to employer in February.
Centre de santé Saint-Boniface: Bargaining proposal meeting was held December 12.
Churchill Regional Health Authority: Bargaining proposal meeting was held November 30. Letter has been sent to employer to commence bargaining.
Civil Service: Special wage adjustments are now complete, see MGEU web site for details.
Community Support : The three WRHA agreements have been printed and mailed out to members. Other RHA agreements are currently being signed by employers and will be printed and distributed shortly. A number of RHAs have begun implementing EFTs for Home Care workers; others have given notice and are in the planning stages of implementation.
Correction Sub Agreement: Moving to Interest Arbitration, updated being mailed out to all members.
DC Café: Bargaining proposal meeting was held, letter has been sent to employer to commence bargaining.
Deaf Centre: Bargaining proposal meeting was held, letter has been sent to employer to commence bargaining.
Diagnostic Services of Manitoba: Letter has been sent to employer to commence bargaining.
Elizabeth Fry Society: Awaiting employer response and more bargaining dates to be scheduled.
Family Centre: Bargaining proposal meeting scheduled for March 21, notice will be mailed out to members
Family Service, Family Support: Bargaining set for February 13.
Family Vision: Bargaining scheduled for February 21 and 28.
Government and Community Workers: Meetings scheduled for March 6, 7, 13 and 14.
Halcrow Lake Day Care: Next bargaining date scheduled for February 29.
Health Care Support Service: Local meetings to collect bargaining proposals are being held across the province. Letters have been sent to employers to commence bargaining.
Macdonald Youth Services APHP: Waiting employer responses, more bargaining dates scheduled in February.
Macdonald Youth Services Crisis Stabilization: Waiting for funders to respond.
Manitoba Adolescent Treatment Centre: Letter has been sent to employer to commence bargaining.
Manitoba Agricultural Service Corporation (Adjustors): Members ratified collective agreement on November 2.
Manitoba Centennial Centre: Members ratified tentative agreement December 12.
Manitoba Housing: Tentative agreement ratified by members on November 7.
Manitoba Public Insurance: Local bargaining proposals meetings are now complete, committee will be reviewing all proposals and doing up package to present to employer.
Manitoba Technology Centre: Letter has been sent to employer to commence bargaining and bargaining dates scheduled in March.
Metis Child and Family Services: Local meetings for elections in Winnipeg and rural areas will be mailed out shortly with meeting being scheduled in January.
NCN Family and Community Wellness Centre: Waiting for employer to confirm dates.
Parkland Crisis Centre: Bargaining proposal meeting held and letter has been sent to employer to commence bargaining.
Project Neechewam: Waiting for funders to respond.
Seine River School Division – Educational Assistants: Bargaining committee received a final offer from the employer which they are not recommending. Ratification vote to be scheduled for February 4 and notices will be sent out to members shortly. Letter is also being sent to apply for conciliation.
Seine River School Division – Secretarial/Librarian: Proposal meeting to be held December 1, see web calendar for time and location. Letter has been sent to employer to commence bargaining. Bargaining will commence once Trades has completed bargaining.
Seine River School Division – Trades: Proposal meeting has been held and letter has been sent to employer to commence bargaining. Bargaining will commence once Educational Assistants has completed bargaining.
Springfield Firefighters: Letter is being sent out to members advising them that they should have a final offer in February and ratification vote will be held in mid-March.
Society for Manitobans with Disabilities: Bargaining dates scheduled for February 9 and 16.
St Amant Support: Letter has been sent to employer to commence bargaining.
St Boniface Trades: Final bargaining proposal meeting being held February 8, see web calendar for location and time. Letter has been sent to employer to commence bargaining.
Western Regional Library: Letter has been sent to employer to commence bargaining along with proposals. Waiting to hear from employer to set dates for bargaining.
Winnipeg Paramedics: Local meetings being held January 17 and 18 and bargaining update to be provided then.
WRHA Interpreters: December 21 bargaining date cancelled, letter has been sent to the Minister of Labour requesting conciliation.
WRHA Pan Am Clinic: Letter has been sent to employer to commence bargaining.
WRHA HSC Security Patrol Officers and Supervisors: Bargaining proposal meetings were held December 13 and 14. Letter has been sent to the employer to commence bargaining.
WRHA Selkirk Laundry Operations: Local meeting held January 25, to vote on bargaining proposals. Letter has been sent to employer to commence bargaining.
YWCA Thompson Residence Inc.: Bargaining proposal meeting held January 25. Letter has been sent to employer to commence bargaining.
