Why join a union?
Today, those who belong to unions, whether in offices or hospitals, restaurants or construction sites, enjoy higher wages and benefits and better job security than their fellow, unorganized workers.
They also have more say in their daily working lives.
That’s because they have legitimate collective bargaining rights, and work under the protection of a collective agreement negotiated with their employer.
Why the MGEU?
We’re Manitoba’s biggest union, which means better bang for your buck. Our members pay amongst the lowest union dues in Canada (1.25% of every dollar they earn), while enjoying the support of our top-notch specialists (like our negotiating, legal and communications teams and a Resource Centre waiting to help).
We’re also Manitoba-made and operated, with offices in Winnipeg, Thompson, The Pas, Dauphin, Brandon, Portage and Selkirk.
How to join
Contact the MGEU Resource Centre (for confidentiality reasons, it’s always best to call or e-mail from home rather than work). A Resource Centre rep will put you in contact with an experienced workplace organizer who will listen to your specific concerns and answer your questions about possible unionization in your workplace.
