Portal to Paradise Rules and Regulations

Eligibility:
The Portal to Paradise Giveaway is available only to dues-paying MGEU members (active and rand).  No MGEU staff, Provincial Table Officers or their respective partners as well as those living in their households are eligible to enter. No purchase is necessary. Limit of one entry per eligible member. Prize awarded upon verification of valid membership.

If the winner has not reached the age of majority, the prize must be accepted by a parent/legal guardian. In the case of the Grand Prize, a parent/legal guardian must accompany the minor on the trip.

Draw Guidelines:
Weekly draws will be held on Friday, September 14th, 21st, and 28th. A separate grand prize draw will take place on September 28th after the weekly prize is drawn. All draws take place at 3 p.m. CST at the MGEU Head Office in Winnipeg (601 – 275 Broadway). Members must sign up before 9 a.m. CST on each Friday to be eligible for that day’s draw and are automatically entered into each subsequent draw.

Once MGEU staff draw a name for a prize, the name must be verified for eligibility before the winner can be announced. Winners will be notified by e-mail or phone based on the information submitted to the union when registering to myMGEU or submitted to the MGEU Resource Centre. All winners will be listed on the MGEU website. If any winner cannot be contacted by the MGEU using the contact information supplied, and fails to claim their prize within one week of the draw date, a re-draw will occur exactly one week after the original draw date.

Contest winners consent to the use of their names, photograph, voice, video footage and/or statements for publicity purposes without compensation, in any future publicity carried out by the MGEU in connection with this or any similar giveaway.

Prizes
There will be a total of 1 grand prize and 3 weekly prizes awarded. All prizes must be accepted as awarded, are not transferable and (with exception of the grand prize) are not convertible to cash. The Grand Prize consists of the choice of a Caribbean cruise for two individuals (a $5,000 value), a $5,000 Travel Voucher from the Great Canadian Travel Company, or $5,000 in cash.

Conditions of Participation

  1. The MGEU assumes no responsibility for any failure of myMGEU or the MGEU website during this giveaway, as well as any problems or technical malfunction of any equipment, software, or failure to enter due to technical problems or traffic congestion on the website or any combination thereof including any damage to an entrant’s computer.
  2. The MGEU reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to change the terms of this giveaway or to cancel or suspend this giveaway at any time for any reason whatsoever.
  3. Each entrant agrees that the personal information collected for purposes of this giveaway can be collected, used and disclosed by MGEU in accordance with the union’s privacy policy.
