LATEST BARGAINING NEWS
On February 3, 2026, members at Duke of Marlborough School (Local 446) ratified a new four-year collective agreement (effective July 1, 2025 - June 30, 2029).
Highlights of the new agreement include:
- General wage increases in each year of the agreement
- Letter of understanding regarding unpaid Educational Assistant days
- Increase to annual remote allowance. This was negotiated prior to this tentative agreement and has now been implemented.
The next step in concluding the collective agreement is to work with the employer to finalize and sign-off the document, which could take some time.

Overview of Bargaining So Far
Members of Duke of Marlborough School - Local 446 put forward their ideas and proposals for improving their collective agreement at a meeting on October 21, 2025.
After that, the Bargaining Committee compiled the proposals into a package which they shared with the employer.
Bargaining took place throughout November and non-monetary discussions have concluded.
Negotiations continued in January 2026 and resulted in reaching a tentative agreement on January 20. The Bargaining Committee recommended members accept the agreement.
