For more than two decades Peter Olfert has served as MGEU President. But after 24 years of service, Mr. Olfert is retiring and will not be seeking re-election this October 22 and 23 at the union’s biennial convention.

It’s a very important time for the MGEU. Many of our Locals have already begun to feel the effects of an uncertain economy at the bargaining table, while the demands placed on public services is as high as ever.

At hundreds of local meetings taking place this fall throughout the province, you and your fellow members will elect members of each Local Executive as well as delegates to our 2010 Convention. It is essential that you attend your Local meeting and cast your vote in order to have your say in the union’s direction for the next two years.

Cannot be on employer time - must be on your own time.
