LATEST BARGAINING NEWS
The St. Amant (Community Residential Programs) - Locals 178 and 459 Bargaining Committee continued negotiations with the employer throughout March 2023.While negotiations are slow, things continue to move forward. The two sides have addressed most of the non-monetary items, like working conditions and contract language, and recently exchanged monetary proposals, which includes wages and benefits.
With additional bargaining dates scheduled for later this month, the Committee hopes to have a reasonable offer from the employer to bring back to the membership for a vote this spring.
Overview of Bargaining So Far
Members of St. Amant Inc. (Community Residential Programs) - Local 178 had the opportunity to put forward their ideas and proposals for improving their collective agreement on April 7, 2019.
The Bargaining Committee then worked to pull together these proposals into a bargaining package to present to the employer.
Since the St. Amant Inc. (Community Residential Programs) - Local 178 collective agreement expired, a number of factors prevented negotiations from starting, including the government’s wage freeze legislation and the global pandemic.
After several months, the Bargaining Committee finalized an Essential Services Agreement.

Committee began meeting with the employer on Tuesday, January 18, 2022.
Negotiations continued throughout February and March 2022, with further
negotiations scheduled into April and May 2022.
The Bargaining Committee continued to meet with the employer throughout the fall of 2022.
