LATEST BARGAINING NEWS
The Deaf Centre Manitoba - Local 203 Bargaining Committee was scheduled to continue negotiations with the employer on Friday, January 20, 2023, but the meeting was cancelled.
New meeting dates have been tentatively scheduled for February 16 and 17, 2023.
Overview of Bargaining So Far
Members of Deaf Centre Manitoba - Local 203 had an opportunity to put forward their ideas and proposals for improving their collective agreement at a Local meeting on October 5, 2019. The Bargaining Committee then worked to pull together these proposals into a package to present to the employer.
Unfortunately, talks were repeatedly postponed due to the Bill 29 health care union representation votes and complications of the pandemic.
The Deaf Centre Manitoba - Local 203 Bargaining Committee began negotiations with the employer on May 27 and 28, 2021.
Due to delays at the bargaining table, members of Deaf Centre Manitoba - Local 203 had
an opportunity to re-submit their ideas and proposals for improving
their new collective agreement at meeting held on January 15, 2022.
Members also elected their Bargaining Committee, who pulled together the
new proposals package to submit to the employer.
The Deaf Centre Manitoba - Local 203 resumed negotiations with the employer on November 28 and 30, 2022.
