LATEST BARGAINING NEWS
The Paramedics - Local 911 Bargaining Committee reached a tentative agreement with the employer in mid-April, which has now been approved by the City's Executive Policy Committee.
Members will have an opportunity to vote on the offer at a ratification vote to be scheduled soon. Please stay tuned for a meeting notice.
The Committee will be recommending acceptance.
Overview of Bargaining So Far
Members of Paramedics - Local 911 had an opportunity to put forward their ideas and proposals for improving their collective agreement at a meeting held on October 30, 2020. The Bargaining Committee then worked to pull together these proposals into a bargaining package to present to the employer.
The Bargaining Committee exchanged
bargaining proposal packages with the employer in spring 2021. Several negotiating
sessions took place throughout May and June 2021.
The Bargaining Committee resumed negotiations
with the employer in fall 2021 and six more bargaining meetings took
place in November.
The Bargaining Committee continued to meet regularly with the employer in
January 2022. Discussions revolved around non-monetary issues such as
working conditions and contract language. Negotiations continued throughout
February, March, April and May 2022.
The Paramedics - Local 911 Bargaining Committee
met with the employer many times in 2022, working through the
non-monetary proposals such as working conditions and contract language.
The two sides had many good discussions, the last being on June 2,
2022.
The Paramedics - Local 911 Bargaining Committee agreed to put
negotiations on hold over the summer of 2022 as the City sought to
replace their negotiating rep.
The Bargaining Committee and the employer continued to negotiate non-monetary items, like contract language and working conditions, throughout October, November and December 2022 and into January and February 2023.
The Paramedics - Local 911 Bargaining Committee and the employer wrapped up discussions around non-monetary
items, like contract language and working conditions, and moved on to
monetary talks (re: wages and benefits) in March 2023. Further
negotiating continued into the spring.
