LATEST BARGAINING NEWS
As they have since the end of May 2022, the Technical
Professional Component - Locals 408, 409, 410, 411 and 420 Bargaining
Committee continues to meet with the employer every Tuesday and caucus
The Committee has negotiated Essential Services Agreements for each of the regions and begun talks on non-monetary issues, which include items related to employee rights and working conditions.
These talks are expected to wrap up soon and and talks regarding monetary items, including wages and benefits, to begin.The union has also been meeting with Provincial representatives at a separate table to discuss recruitment, retention, and training incentives for Tech/Prof members. These talks are related to the Health Human Resource Action Plan recently announced by the government.
Overview of Bargaining So Far
In spring 2021, Technical Professional Component - Locals 408, 409, 420, 411 and 420 members had an opportunity to send in bargaining proposals via email, and then vote on them at an online meeting. It was important to revisit this process because proposals had originally been gathered before the conclusion of representation votes.
