LATEST BARGAINING NEWS
The Main Street Project - Local 136 Bargaining Committee began negotiations with the employer re: monetary proposals, like wages and benefits, in the fall of 2022.
When the employer presented a unsatisfactory monetary offer, the Committee recommended that members reject it, and the membership voted to overwhelmingly to reject the employer's offer. The Bargaining Committee then advised the employer that they
wished to return to the table to see if a better settlement could be negotiated.
Bargaining is scheduled to continue throughout February and March 2023.
Overview of Bargaining So Far
Members of Main Street Project - Local 136 had an opportunity to put forward their ideas and proposals for improving their collective agreement on March 31, 2019.
Once the Bargaining Committee pulled together the proposals into a package to present to the employer, negotiations were delayed to a variety of issues, including the pandemic, the hiring of a new CEO and two changes in the employer's HR representative.
The Main Street Project - Local 136 Bargaining Committee began negotiations with the employer on March 8, 2022, and bargaining continued throughout the spring and into July 2022. Throughout the summer, the Committee began pushing the employer to present their monetary package so negotiations re: things like wages and benefits could begin.
