This week, during negotiations for an Essential Services Agreement with the employer, Canadian Blood Services bargaining representatives reached a tentative two-year agreement.

The bargaining committee feels it is important that members vote on this new offer, and a package is being sent to all members detailing all of the negotiated changes to the collective agreement, a letter from the bargaining committee recommending its acceptance, and a ballot for the ratification vote.

The ratification vote will be held by mail in ballot. For those unable to attend the scheduled information meetings who want to vote on the tentative agreement, the ballots must be in the mail by Friday June 7th, 2013. This is to ensure it arrives at the MGEU Head Office by noon on Thursday June 13th to be counted.

CBS members are encouraged to attend the information sessions and may vote at the information meeting, but must bring the ballot that was sent in the mail in order to cast your vote there.

Information meetings will be held at the following times:

Brandon: Date: June 6, 2013

Time: 11:30 am

Location: Brandon MGEU Office, 1665 Parker Blvd

Winnipeg: Date: June 6, 2013

Time: 4:15 pm

Location: Ambassador "B" - Canad Inns, Health Science Centre, 720 William Avenue

The bargaining committee and MGEU staff representative will be at both information meetings to make a presentation on the tentative agreement and answer any questions. They can also be reached through the MGEU Resource Centre at 1-866-982-6438.
