The members of the Duke of Marlborough School (Local 446), who work in Churchill's Nursery - 12 school, recently voted to accept their first contract.
The new one-year agreement (effective July 1, 2019) provides 21 members with a wage increase, a boost to their remoteness allowance, and the introduction of a number of policies and provisions that the Local was seeking in their first collective agreement. The employees covered by the contract include educational assistants, custodians, and maintenance workers, as well as the school librarian, counselor, and secretary.
The next step for the Local will be to have the new
agreement finalized and signed before distribution to members.
