The MGEU launched a province-wide public information campaign today, beginning with a simple message: Manitobans can support our essential service workers by staying apart.

"Thousands of dedicated MGEU members must go into work this holiday weekend, like they always do," said MGEU President Michelle Gawronsky. "Throughout this crisis, they will continue to remain on the job, doing what's necessary to keep all of us healthy and safe. We can show our appreciation by following public health guidelines and helping to flatten that curve."

Ads will run on radio stations throughout the province, as well as online, over the next several weeks.

"With members in every corner of this province, the MGEU has a role to play in championing solidarity among our own membership and all Manitobans," Gawronsky said. "As MGEU President, I am privileged to speak on behalf of those whose job is serving their fellow Manitobans each and every day. During a crisis like this, their commitment and dedication is truly inspiring."

All members are encouraged to continue to reach out to our Resource Centre with any questions or concerns in the coming weeks.
