Over the next several weeks, the MGEU is calling on members and Manitobans to voice their support for more investment in our public services in the next Provincial budget.

“The Finance Minister is currently asking Manitobans about their priorities for the next budget through an online survey and a series of in-person meetings across the province,” said MGEU President Kyle Ross. “It’s important he hears from as many of us as possible that cuts and privatization are not the answer. We need this government to invest in our public services and public programs, not cut them.”

The province has a few options for Manitobans to provide their budget priorities to the government. The MGEU is calling on Manitobans to take at least one of the actions below and remind the government to invest in our public services, instead of cutting and privatizing, in whatever action you take:

· Email your feedback before January 31, 2022 to budget2022@gov.mb.ca.

· Take the online survey. You will need to sign in with your Engage MB account or create an account to take the survey.

· Attend a public meeting. The first of these meetings happened this week. The province says more dates will be announced for January.

· Join a Telephone Town Hall. The province says more dates will be announced for January.
