The MGEU is ramping up the Keep Us Together campaign with new online/tv ads aimed at urging the government to invest in public services.

Over the last six years, the Manitoba government has cut over 2,600 jobs from the Civil Service alone – nearly 20% of that workforce – and we can see the results. Manitoba’s families are experiencing longer wait times, more delays, and higher costs for the services we all need. There aren’t enough workers to support children, care for seniors, ensure our water, roads, and workplaces are safe.

The new ad, Manitoba’s Choice, reminds that if we don’t choose stronger public services, our communities become more divided and make life harder than it should be.

“As Manitobans, we rely on our public services to support us and we know the past two years have really driven this point home. It’s important that we make that connection with Manitobans, remind them that when you short-change your public services, when you put profits over people, that everyone suffers,” said MGEU President Kyle Ross. “Investing in our public services is not only the best choice, as our ads says, it’s really the only choice we can make. We can’t afford to keep cutting and privatizing our services.”

The updated campaign will be running on TV and online throughout the province over the next several weeks. You can visit KeepUsTogether.ca to learn more and share the campaign message on social media.
