It was a busy two days of voting and debate at MGEU’s Special Convention (June 10-11) held at the Victoria Inn Hotel & Convention Centre in Winnipeg.

President, Kyle Ross, greeted delegates and guests for the union’s first in-person Convention gathering since 2018 and the largest hybrid event (with both online and in-person attendees) the MGEU has ever held! He shared all of the initiatives and campaigns that the MGEU has been working on since October, while reminding members about the importance of solidarity and how vital it is to acknowledge each and every victory in times like these.

But most of the one-time Special Convention proceedings were dedicated to resolutions, as delegates discussed dozens of motions brought forward by members.
