Family, friends, Local 49 "brothers" mourn MB Highways member who died on the job

The MGEU offers condolences to the family and friends of Trades – Area 1 member, Gunnar Einarson, who recently passed away on the job. Along with his role as a Department of Highways Operator 3, Gunnar was deeply involved in his community as a volunteer fire fighter, elected town council representative, and Canadian Ranger.
Gunnar’s son, Kyle, says his dad greatly enjoyed working with his Local 49 “brothers” on the Highways team and took pride in keeping Manitoba roads safe and maintained.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 23, 2022 with viewing beginning at 11:00 a.m., St. James Anglican Church, Grand Rapids, Manitoba.
