MGEU Mourns the loss of Lorne Flamand

It is with heavy hearts that the MGEU mourns the passing of long-time member and dedicated activist, Lorne Flamand. He became a member in 1989 with Local 154 – Communities Economic Development Fund in Thompson.
Lorne began his union activism in 1991 as a steward, and was the Local 154 President from 1995-2021. He sat on the Board of Directors as the Area 8 Director from 2007-2014, and was on the Constitution, Bylaw & Structure Committee from 1998-2014.
Lorne showed strong commitment in all his efforts, and was an extremely kind and dedicated activist,.
A Celebration of Lorne's life will be held Saturday March 18th 2023 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Legion bar at the Royal Canadian Legion in Thompson, Manitoba.
