Have your say – submit an MGEU Convention Resolution
At Convention 2018, delegates will debate, listen, and vote on resolutions which will shape our union and provide direction. The resolutions debated must be submitted and passed by MGEU members at a Local, Area Council, Component Executive, or Standing Committee meeting within the timelines stipulated in the MGEU Constitution.
If you wish to submit a resolution, please complete the Convention 2018 Constitution/General Resolution form (it is recommended to complete the form on a desktop or laptop computer with access to a printer). Please remember “The MGEU will” portion of a Resolution cannot contain more than 150 words.
Once you have completed the form, print a copy by clicking the “PRINT” button at the bottom of the form. If you wish to save a copy of your completed form, select “Save As” from the File menu. Paper copies of the form will also be available at meetings.
The Resolutions Committee reviews all submitted resolutions and may seek clarification from the resolution’s creator or compile similar resolutions to form a composite resolution. The Committee is responsible for creating the final package brought forth to Convention and they, or the appropriate Standing Committee where applicable, will provide delegates with a recommendation on each resolution.
The final Convention 2018 Resolution package will be
distributed to delegates upon registration. A PDF version will be available here
on the Convention Resolutions page (also available on The Source) in early October for
delegates to review.
