Covid-19 Update #13: MGEU Mandates masks at all in-person meetings, meetings in Area 2 & 3 under review
Due to the latest public health recommendations, MGEU members will be required to wear masks during all in-person meetings. Masks will be made available at the meeting if required. The new colour-coded COVID scale recently implemented by the Province also caps gatherings in the Prairie Mountain Health region to no more than ten people. As such, MGEU's in-person meetings in Area 2 and Area 3 are now under review.

Government announces Risk Recognition payments to go out this week
The government announced today that 78,000 Manitoba workers will receive a direct deposit of $1,377 this week as part of the province's Risk Recognition Program.

MYS (APHP) Local 369 wins arbitration award
Macdonald Youth Services (Alternative Parent Home Program) - Local 369, recently went to arbitration to settle the outstanding terms of their collective agreement. This morning the arbitrator issued their decision and imposed wage increases over the two-year collective agreement.

Patient Transport Services, Local 451, Ratifies First Collective Agreement
The new three-year deal was just over a year in the making, with the Local 451 Bargaining Committee requesting the assistance of a third-party conciliator to help reach their first contract. The agreement includes wage increases as well as improvements to sick leave and vacation provisions for about 80 members.

Government expands Risk Recognition Program, still excludes far too many essential workers
Yesterday, the government announced it would be expanding their Risk Recognition Program by increasing the maximum income threshold for essential workers – those who earned a total pre-tax employment income of $12,500 during the 2.5-month eligibility period (excluding overtime) will now be eligible to apply.
