Members of Metis Child and Family Services (Authority) - Local 394 ratify new five-year agreement
Jul 14, 2016
Members of Metis Child and Family Services (Authority) - Local 394 ratified a new five-year collective agreement today.
Highlights of the agreement include the ability to take vacation as it’s earned, introduction of an employer-paid prescription drug card, and improvements to bereavement leave.
Local 394 was one of the Locals impacted by what the overall Civil Service achieves through their bargaining. The government sets a funding mandate through Civil Service negotiations and extends it to other government-funded Locals throughout the province. Because of this, Local 394 was on hold until Civil Service members ratified a new agreement on January 28, 2016.
The Local 394 Bargaining Committee began negotiations with the employer on April 5, and bargaining continued on April 11, 12, 15, 25 and 26, 2016.
The Metis CFS (Authority) - Local 394 Bargaining Committee reached a tentative agreement with the employer in June 2016.
