On Wednesday, May 14th, the
PASA-USB bargaining committee (Local 147) ratified a new 4-year collective agreement
with the employer.
The contract includes a 2% wage
increase in each year of the agreement and an increase of Family days from three
to five per year. There is also a signed letter of agreement requiring the
employer to hire a consultant to study the current classification system and
pays scales. This consultant will make recommendations on changes needed to put
some logic and fairness into both. The results will be used to make some changes
in the next round of bargaining.
The new agreement is now being
prepared and members of Locals 147 are encouraged to update their contact information to
ensure they receive a copy of the new contract once available.
