Last night, Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Authority members (Locals 425 & 426) voted to accept a new four-year agreement (April 2023 - March 2027) that will also officially merge Local 146 - Manitoba Horse Racing Commission members under this agreement and into Local 426.
Members employed for the duration of the agreement will see their wages increase by approximately 14% over four years. These increases are achieved by the following:
- General wage increases of 2.5% (2023), 2.75% (2024), 3% (2025) and 3% (2026);
- Addition of a new step (an additional 2.5%) at the top of each wage scale, and advancement of all members to the next step of their wage scale, effective October 7, 2023.
Other highlights of the agreement include a one-time lump sum payment, increases to overnight and weekend shift premiums, merger protections for members that would otherwise be disadvantaged, and improvements to all benefits.
In a message sent to members of the Local, the Bargaining Committee thanked everyone for their patience, support and solidarity during this round of bargaining.
