A new MGEU ad campaign launches next week which focuses on the thousands of education support workers who provide critical supports that keep Manitoba’s 690 public schools running, while serving more than 212,000 students.
The new campaign – Big jobs. No small part. – features radio, outdoor, and online ads running this spring to remind Manitobans of the many dedicated support workers who:
- Provide one-on-one support in classrooms,
- Help parents stay connected,
- Clean and maintain schools so they're safe for everyone,
- Provide resources and make the latest books available in school libraries,
- Keep kids safe crossing busy streets, to and from school,
- Update and maintaining technology to help our kids learn,
And so much more!
President Kyle Ross says the time is right to highlight the efforts of these MGEU members who recently formed the union’s newest Component (Component 22: Educational Support) and are relied upon every day in our schools.
“Nearly 2000 MGEU members work in 95 Manitoba public schools and they deserve to be recognized for the important role they play in looking out for our kids,” said MGEU President, Kyle Ross. “This campaign is one way to shine a light on their dedication to our kids’ education.”
