We did it! Your voices were heard!

Thank you to everyone who sent a message to Premier Heather Stefanson and Health Minister Audrey Gordon to keep their promise to health care support workers.

When the government announced the “Health Human Resource Action plan,” which promised to invest $200 million to recruit and retain health care professionals across the province, they promised to include health support workers when distributing this money.

But instead of honouring this promise, they left these workers out in the cold.

The MGEU is pleased to advise that we’ve signed off on an agreement with employer representatives for the long-awaited recruitment and retention incentives which were promised to health support workers in November. This includes weekend super premium, wellness incentives and reimbursement for licensure/association fees.
