So many options available to MGEU members and their family to pursue a university or college education!

For those looking for some extra financial help to begin or continue their post-secondary studies, the MGEU is pleased to announce that applications for the 2024 MGEU educational scholarships and bursaries are now being accepted.

Each year, the union makes nearly $30,000 available in scholarships and bursaries to help MGEU members and their immediate family pursue a university or college education.

The program includes sixteen $1,500 Area Bursaries, with two bursaries available in each of the MGEU’s eight geographically-defined Areas: one to an MGEU member; and one to a spouse/common-law partner, child or ward of an MGEU member.

It also includes the Joseph Grenier Bursary ($1,500), available to an MGEU health care member in the HCSS Component (or spouse/common-law partner or child pursuing a health care profession).

And once again, applications are also being accepted for the Ken Hildahl Memorial Award ($2,000) and the Peter Olfert Scholarship ($2,000).

As an affiliate of the Manitoba Federation of Labour (MFL) and the National Union of Public and General Employees (NUPGE), MGEU members are also eligible to apply for the MFL Al and Alma Cerilli Scholarship as well several NUPGE scholarships.
