LATEST BARGAINING NEWS
On October 15, 2025, members ratified a new three-year collective agreement (effective April 1, 2025 - March 31, 2028).
Highlights of the new agreement include:
- General wage increases in each year of the agreement
- Market adjustments for support staff and LPNs
- Additional long-service steps
- Increased weekend, evening and night premiums
The next step in concluding the collective agreement is to work with the employer to finalize and sign-off the document, which could take some time.

Overview of Bargaining So Far
Members of Golden Door Geriatric Centre - Local 87 had an opportunity to put forward their ideas and proposals for improving their collective agreement at a meeting on January 28, 2025.
The proposals submitted by members were reviewed and compiled into a package, which was presented to the employer at the first bargaining meeting.
Your Bargaining Committee and the employer developed anEssential Services Agreement.
The first bargaining meeting took place on September 17, 2025.
A tentative agreement was reached on October 8, 2025.
