LATEST BARGAINING NEWS
On March 23, 2026 the Bargaining Committee for Animikii Ozoson Child and Family Services - Local 443 reached a tentative agreement with the employer.
Highlights of the tentative agreement include:
- General wage increases in each year of the agreement, with the highest increase in 2026 to help with today’s cost of living
- Increases to bereavement leave
- Improvements to meal allowances and personal leave days
A ratification vote will be held on-site April 15, 2026, 3:30 pm - 6:30 pm. A highlight sheet will be sent in advance of the meeting.
Overview of Bargaining So Far
Members of Animikii Ozoson Child and Family Services - Local 443 had an opportunity to put forward their ideas and proposals for improving their collective agreement at a meeting on October 21, 2025.
At the meeting, proposals were discussed and members voted on which ones the Bargaining Committee would use to form the bargaining proposal package.
An Essential Services Agreement (ESA) was developed and completed before bargaining began.
On January 7, 2026, the Bargaining Committee met with employer to exchange proposals.
Bargaining was ongoing with additional dates scheduled in March.
