LATEST BARGAINING NEWS
On May 6, 2025, members voted to ratify a new four-year agreement (effective March 23, 2024 - March 24, 2027).
Highlights of the agreement include:
- Wage increases each year of the agreement
- An additional step and a new 20-year step on the pay scale
- An additional family-related leave day
- New severance pay language
The next step in concluding the collective agreement is to work with the employer to finalize and sign-off the dcoument, which could take some time.
Overview of Bargaining So Far
Members of Dakota Ojibway Child & Family Services - Locals 435, 436, 437 had an opportunity to put forward their ideas and proposals for improving their collective agreement at a meeting on September 9, 2024.
The Bargaining Committee then worked to pull together these proposals into a package to present to the employer.
Negotiations will begin on October 29, 2024, where the Bargaining Committee and employer will exchange proposals.
Bargaining meetings took place on December 12, 2024 and January 17, 2025.
In January, discussions were focused on monetary items.
In late April, a tentative agreement was reached with the employer. The Bargaining Committee is recommending acceptance.
Ratification votes will be held in three locations over two days. Members must be present at a meeting in order to receive a ballot.
Details about the tentative agreement will be shared with the membership at the meetings.
