LATEST BARGAINING NEWS
On July 22, 2025 members voted to accept a new four-year agreement, in effect from April 1, 2024 - March 31, 2028.
Highlights of the new agreement include:
- General wage increases in each year of the agreement
- Market adjustment and other significant wage adjustments
- New 15, 20 and 25-year long service steps
- Addition of Orange Shirt Day included under Designated Statutory & Pay Holidays
The next step in concluding the collective agreement is to work with the employer to finalize and sign-off the document, which could take some time.

Overview of Bargaining So Far
Members of Poseidon Care Centre - Local 81 had an opportunity to put forward their ideas and proposals for improving their collective agreement on May 21, 2024.
The Bargaining Committee then worked on pulling the proposals together into a proposal package and developing the Essential Services Agreement with the employer.
Bargaining on the collective agreement began in July 2025. On July 14, the Committee reached a tentative agreement with the employer, which they are recommending members to accept in an upcoming ratification vote.
Highlights of the tentative agreement were emailed to members of the Local on July 16. Members were invited to a come and go meeting on July 22, where they also voted on the tentative agreement.
