LATEST BARGAINING NEWS
On October 20, 2025, ratified a new four-year collective agreement (effective April 1, 2024 - March 31, 2028).
Highlights of the new agreement include:
- General wage increases in each year of the agreement
- Market adjustment and other significant wage adjustments
- New 15, 20 and 25-year long service steps
- Addition of Orange Shirt Day (National Day for Truth and Reconciliation) included under Designated Statutory & Pay Holidays
The next step in concluding the collective agreement is to work with the employer to finalize and sign-off the document, which could take some time.
Members are encouraged to make sure the MGEU has their current contact information to receive a link to the new collective agreement once it is available.

Overview of Bargaining So Far
At a proposal meeting on January 29, 2025 members of Beacon Hill Lodge - Local 80 discussed their bargaining proposals.
The Bargaining Committee pulled the proposals together into a proposal package and began working on the Essential Services Agreement.
Bargaining was scheduled to begin on July 7, 2025.
A tentative agreement was reached and members voted on it at a ratification meeting on October 20, 2025. The Bargaining Committee recommended acceptance.
