Members of Macdonald Youth Services (now known as "The Link") COACH - Local 453, who provide intervention and support for students with profound emotional and behavourial issues in an intensive school and community-based setting, ratified their first collective agreement tonight.
Highlights of the two-year agreement include wage increases related to the implementation of a formal salary scale, the introduction of potential for a pay increment after twelve months of service should program funding be increased, and rules regarding vacation, sick leave, and hours of work.
The Bargaining Committee encourages members who have not yet signed a membership application form to contact the MGEU Resource Centre to ensure they receive a copy of the collective agreement once it’s printed.
