About the vote

The online vote (September 22 to October 6) is being conducted by a third party (Data On The Spot - DOTS). Each member’s voting pin number (voting credentials) will be provided by DOTS and members will be able to cast their vote using a smartphone, tablet, computer or touch-tone phone. More details on how/where to cast your ballot will be provided to members by DOTS.

For members who have never done so, it is very important they sign an MGEU member application right away to receive more information about voting and the latest bargaining news.

Those who have signed a card but may have since changed their address or contact information are encouraged to update their information here and provide an active personal email address and mobile phone number as soon as possible.

About the offer

On August 31, the employer presented a revised settlement offer to the MGEU Civil Service Bargaining Committee, which represents the largest bargaining unit (over 11,000 members) in the union.

Unfortunately, it fails to provide wage increases that help all members keep up with the rising cost of living. The Committee told members they would be moving ahead with plans for a membership vote, while strongly recommending that members vote to reject the offer and authorize the bargaining committee to take strike action.
