After a tough round of negotiations, members of Family Visions - Local 303 ratified a new 4-year collective agreement last night.
Bargaining stalled in early 2024, when the employer tabled proposals on wage increases which were clearly inadequate, while demanding the union roll back a number of benefits that are currently in the agreement. After failing to make any progress with the aid of a third-party conciliator, members had no choice but to deliver a strong strike mandate. This gave their Bargaining Committee the leverage needed to kickstart renewed talks and reach a tentative agreement.
Highlights include general wage increases in each year, totaling 16% over the life of the agreement, an improved health benefits package, and new RRSP program.
Members are encouraged to make sure the union has their most current contact information in order to receive a link to their new collective agreement once it is available.
