MGEU welcomes support staff at Assiniboine Medical Clinic

Assiniboine Medical Clinic – Local 462 support staff are one of the most recent groups to join the MGEU.

40 members comprise the Local and work in a variety of supportive positions within the Assiniboine Medical Clinic including, but not limited to, Medical Office Assistant, Surgery Office Assistant, Information Desk Clerk, and Medical Records.

Each and every day they provide critical supports for The Assiniboine Medical Clinic.

Local 462 received their labour certificate in late June and were electing their Local Executive and submitting bargaining proposals for their first contract at the end of August. Bargaining is expected to begin shortly.

“All workers deserve respect while on the job, and MGEU is pleased to begin working with this Local to ensure they have a strong voice in the workplace, and at the bargaining table,” MGEU President Kyle Ross said.
