Do you know an MGEU member (past or present) who has demonstrated an exceptional spirit of humanity through volunteer, advocacy, and/or philanthropic work in Manitoba?
MGEU members are encouraged to nominate a fellow member for the 2025 Satori Diop Humanitarian Award, which will be presented at the union's Convention in October.
Selection criteria
Selected by the Equity and Human Rights Committee, the award is presented to a member who has made a humanitarian contribution in Manitoba. Their efforts can span many years or a single notable event.
Examples of humanitarian acts include, but are not limited to: lobbying for positive changes in a community or in a workplace, starting a support group, educating others, providing support to fellow Union members, organizing vigils/remembrance events, and supporting vulnerable Manitobans in need of food, shelter, or clothing.
Nomination process
If you know someone you'd like to nominate, please complete the Satori Diop Humanitarian Award Nomination Form. Include detailed information on the form to give the selection committee a complete understanding of the nominee’s contributions, including letters of support from other individuals or organizations (which can be uploaded and attached to the form). The deadline for nominations is May 31, 2025.
