On January 23, 2014, MGEU Local 394 (Metis Child & Family Services Authority) voted to accept their first union contract.

The new two-year agreement (covering 17 members) went into effect immediately and includes improvements to vacation and wellness day benefits as well as wage parity with comparable positions in the provincial civil service. But most importantly for Local 394 workers, this first contract provides improved job security and the fixed terms, conditions and transparency in their workplace that only a collective agreement can provide.

The bargaining committee encourages Metis CFS Authority members to provide their contact information to ensure they receive a copy of the new contract once it’s printed.
