Canadian Blood Services (Local 200 and 400) ratified a three-year agreement today, covering about 115 MGEU members working in Brandon and Winnipeg. The contract included increases in each year and totalled seven percent (2.5%, 2.5%, and 2.0%) over the duration of the agreement.

Other negotiated highlights include the calculation of vacation entitlement based on years of service rather than hours worked, an increase to the meal allowance, and a long-service step after 20 years.

The CBS bargaining committee will now contact the employer to get the agreement finalized and signed before it’s printed and distributed to members. In the meantime, members of the Locals are encouraged to update their contact information to ensure they receive a copy of the new contract once it is available.
