On Friday, February 26, the MGEU Component 10 (MPI) Bargaining Committee reached a tentative four-year agreement.

This round of bargaining had its own unique challenges as both the Committee and the employer had agreed to bargain within a finite time-period.

In the end, the agreement was reached after four months of extremely tough negotiations, and ultimately through a conciliator, with only one day left until the mutually agreed upon deadline.

The Bargaining Committee is recommending the four-year agreement, which would come into effect in September 2016.

MPI members are being sent further details about the vote and the agreement in an e-mail today. Full details of the agreement will be available to MPI members at the ratification meetings held across the province during the month of March.

Any MPI member who has recently changed their address is encouraged to take a minute to update their contact information with the union.
