MGEU Local 202, Western Manitoba Regional Library, has ratified a new four-year collective agreement, effective January 1, 2012 - December 31, 2015.
The new contract includes 1.5% retroactive pay for all members (going back to January 1, 2012), a $0.25 per hour increase on all rates this coming October, as well as a 1.5% increase in 2013, a 2.5% in 2014 and a 2.5% increase in 2015.
Other contract improvements include expanded bereavement leave for members of Local 202 and improvements to vacation pay for part-time employees after 20 years of service.
The MGEU will now be working with the employer to finalize the agreement in order to get the contract signed, printed and into members' hands as soon as possible.
In the meantime, Local 202 members are encouraged to update their contact information to ensure they receive a copy of the new contract once available.
