This April, MGEU members from around the province will gather in Winnipeg for Unstoppable: Overcoming Barriers – the 2023 MGEU Women’s Conference.

All MGEU women members are encouraged to apply for the conference — scheduled for April 12 & 13 in Winnipeg — which will be a great way for those with an interest in their union to get more involved.

Together, over two days, delegates will focus on empowering women to become more active in their workplace, and in the Labour movement, and hear from those who have influenced change at all levels.

If you’d like to attend, simply complete this online application by Friday, January 6, 2023.

Delegate selection:

Completing the application form does not a guarantee admission to this conference. In mid-January, the MGEU Women's Committee (a variety of members who work both on the frontlines and behind the scenes from all areas of the province) will review applications and select 115 conference delegates from a broad representation of all MGEU Locals and Areas. As space is limited, preference will be given to first-time applicants.

The MGEU Women’s Committee thanks everyone in advance for their interest. Only those selected will be contacted.

Other important information about the conference:

· There will be limited participation for delegates to join the conference virtually. However, those who choose to join online will only be able to watch the video stream and will not be able to interact with other conference delegates, including other online attendees.

· The MGEU Women’s Conference uses an inclusive definition of “woman” and “female” and welcomes trans women, genderqueer women, and non-binary people who are significantly female-identified to apply.
